Jennifer Torrence is a percussionist/performer based in Oslo, Norway. Originally from the United States, she has performed and taught in a variety of contexts across the entire globe. Much of her work is built upon extended collaborative processes with composers and artists from diverse experimental practices. In addition to solo and collaborative projects she is a member of the Norwegian ensemble, Pinquins. Active in the field of artistic research, Jennifer is currently performing post-doctoral research with the project “The Performer is the Collective” (2026-2030, Norwegian Academy of Music). Ellen Ugelvik is a Norwegian pianist, originally from Bergen. She is professor of contemporary music at the Norwegian Academy of Music where she is also employed as leader of NordART/Arne Nordheim centre for artistic research. She concentrates on developing and performing new projects in cooperation with contemporary composers and artists. Ugelvik works as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, USA and Asia. Elizabeth Hobbs is a traditional animator with a background in artist’s books and printmaking. She lives in London, UK. Her films are made by traditional methods under a rostrum camera. In the production of her animated films she has used relief print on 35mm film, butterfly prints, images created with a typewriter, paint on a bathroom tile, collage and paint and ink on paper. Elizabeth creates short narrative films for festivals and broadcast, as well as more experimental pieces for live performance with collaborators such as composer Carola Bauckholt and NIE Theatre. Elizabeth likes to share her process and techniques through workshops, masterclasses and lecturing. Elizabeth is senior tutor on the Directing Animation MA at The National Film & Television School in the UK.
Carola Bauckholt studierte von 1978 bis 1984 an der Musikhochschule Köln bei Mauricio Kagel. 1985 gründete sie mit Caspar Johannes Walter den Thürmchen Verlag, 1991 das Thürmchen Ensemble. 2013 wurde sie zum Mitglied der Akademie der Künste in Berlin gewählt, seit 2021 ist sie Direktorin der Sektion Musik. 2015 wurde sie zur Professorin für Komposition an die Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz berufen und ging 2024 in Pension. 2020 wurde sie zum Mitglied der Nordrhein-Westfälische Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Künste gewählt.
In Zusammenarbeit mit Elizabeth Hobbs und dem Klangforum Wien erhielt sie 2019 den "Best Sound Design Award" des London International Animation Festival für "Die Flunder". Ihre Doppel-CD mit Orchesterwerken (Maria de Alvear World Edition) gewann 2025 den „Abbiati Prize for Recordings“ in Cremona. Im Oktober 2025 wurde sie mit dem Louis Spohr Preis der Stadt Braunschweig ausgezeichnet. Ein zentrales Moment der Werke von Carola Bauckholt ist das Nachdenken über das Phänomen der Wahrnehmung und des Verstehens. Ihre Kompositionen vermischen oft Elemente aus visueller Kunst, Musiktheater und konzertanter Musik. Dafür bedient sie sich gerne geräuschhafter Klänge, die oft mit ungewohnten Mitteln erzeugt werden und nicht in ein vorgegebenes Kompositionsraster eingearbeitet, sondern in ihrer freien Entfaltung beobachtet und fortgeführt werden.
