"I actually have a few questions. For example: Why do you almost never see faces in the videos? And why does everything always happen so quickly and quickly and done? And why does most of it not look like fun and happiness and love, but like work? And why does no one ever laugh in these videos? It's not as if it isn't funny."

ZUNDER follows two teenagers into their own speechlessness and that of those around them and approaches it with humor and empathy. Although sexualized content is constantly available, especially on the Internet, and is also easily accessible to younger age groups, nobody really wants to talk about it. But what do you do when you are exposed to these images, accidentally or intentionally, without having words for your own feelings? What is often missing in dealing with them is a language for the feelings these images trigger. They can be a reason for rejection and fascination, but at the same time they could be a good opportunity to talk about intimacy and tenderness, about your own boundaries and the ability to say no, about shame and vulnerability.

The world premiere of ZUNDER, the winning piece of the MAGMA youth development program, opened the 2024/25 season.
MAGMA is a cooperation between DRAMA FORUM and DSCHUNGEL WIEN that connects theatre artists with authors and both with their audience.
